چکیده
Citrus is one of the most important fruit crops cultivated in South Africa. Internationally, citrus dry root rot a common disease major production areas. Several abiotic and biotic factors are involved development, which Neocosmospora species agents. The diversity associated with symptoms trees Africa was evaluated using morphological molecular analyses. Multi-locus analysis conducted, based on fragments seven loci including: ATP citrate lyase (acl1), calmodulin (cal), internal transcribed spacer region rRNA (ITS), large subunit (LSU), RNA polymerase largest (rpb1), second (rpb2), translation elongation factor 1-alpha (tef1). A total 62 strains representing 11 were isolated from crowns, trunks roots affected by rot, as well soils sampled orchards. commonly taxa N. citricola, ferruginea solani, while rarely encountered included brevis, crassa, hypothenemi noneumartii. Furthermore, four also newly described, namely addoensis, gamtoosensis lerouxii.

Leuconostoc spp. Associated with Root Rot in Sugar Beet and Their Interaction with Rhizoctonia solani.
Rhizoctonia root and crown rot is an important disease problem in sugar beet caused by Rhizoctonia solani and also shown to be associated with Leuconostoc spp. Initial Leuconostoc studies were conducted with only a few isolates and the relationship of Leuconostoc with R. solani is poorly understood; therefore, a more thorough investigation was conducted. In total, 203 Leuconostoc isolates were ...
متن کاملGanoderma species, including new taxa associated with root rot of the iconic Jacaranda mimosifolia in Pretoria, South Africa
Jacaranda mimosifolia trees have been progressively dying due to Ganoderma root and butt rot disease in Pretoria (the "City of Jacarandas") for many years. Ganoderma austroafricanum was described from these trees previously but this was based on a single collection. This study treats a substantially expanded collection of isolates of Ganoderma made from all dying trees where basidiomes were pre...
متن کاملAntifungal Streptomyces spp. Associated with the Infructescences of Protea spp. in South Africa
Common saprophytic fungi are seldom present in Protea infructescences, which is strange given the abundance of mainly dead plant tissue in this moist protected environment. We hypothesized that the absence of common saprophytic fungi in Protea infructescences could be due to a special symbiosis where the presence of microbes producing antifungal compounds protect the infructescence. Using a cul...
متن کاملMorphological and molecular characterization of Oomycetes associated with root and crown rot of cucurbits in Kermanshah province, Iran
Pythium and Phytophthora are among the most well-known plant pathogens around the world that cause rotting of seeds, root, and crown, seedling death, and soft rot of fruits in contact with the soil. In this research, 347 isolates of these two genera and their close genus, Phytopythium were isolated from the cucurbits fields in Kermanshah province, Iran and examined in...

For the first time in the Czech Republic, bacteria identified as Pseudomonas marginalis, Pectobacterium carotovorum subsp. carotovorum and Pseudomonas putida were isolated from tubers of Zantedeschia spp. with symptoms of tuber...
